                                     Our team

Heydon Drury

BPhty, PNZ

While I am originally from Cambridge, UK, I have been lucky enough to call New Zealand my home since 2023. I’ve tried my hand at most sports and found my passion in CrossFit and Basketball.

Physio came naturally to me as it combined my love of sports, science and helping people! I really enjoy helping people with a mix of hands-on therapy, exercise based rehab and some good laughs along the way!

My current clinical favorites are anything knee, shoulder or running related. Since moving to New Zealand, I have now also found myself learning to surf and working towards progressing my PADI scuba diving qualifications.

I look forward to seeing anyone in the clinic or on the gym floor with me!

Matt Cox

BPhty, PNZ

I have been working as a Physiotherapist since completing my degree at King's College London in 2017. Following this I have worked in private practices, and in the National Health Service in team lead and senior physiotherapist roles.

In our sessions you can expect an individualised approach to your injury; tailoring the plan and treatment to your story, needs, and goals. My emphasis is on keeping you as active as possible during your recovery, while incorporating hands-on techniques with customised rehab and clear education to help with your injury.

While I have a special interest in working with triathletes or those with ankle, hip and shoulder injuries, my years of experience has given me well-rounded understanding to support with a wide range of injuries and conditions.

I originally hail from the UK and made the move to sunny Mount Maunganui in early 2024 . Being active has always been my nature having played sport most my life, nowadays I will be found hiking, running or at my CrossFit Gym.

I look forward to working with you here at Physio Lab.

Portia Olney-Kemp

BPhty, PNZ

(Currently on maternity leave)

Born in Northland, I have grown up in a very active sporting community competing in a range of sports from athletics, triathlons, hockey and surfing. Following a nasty Achillies injury at the age of 12, I knew becoming a physiotherapist was what I wanted to do. Exercise and movement have always played a significant role in my life, and I love to utilise this alongside manual therapy techniques as key principles in my physiotherapy management. I enjoy challenging people of all abilities to promote optimal and healthy movement.

As a locum Physiotherapist, I look forward to meeting and working with you here at Physio Lab before I tackle my next challenge of motherhood. Outside of work you’ll find me surfing, beach walking, in the gym or outside some of Mount’s best local foodie spots.
